Hi, guys, I hope you are doing well.

In the previous articles we discussed, the Linkedin profile, portfolio, curriculum, first round of interviews, and even a practical challenge, so, today we will move forward and discuss what recruiters might ask you in a technical UX interview.

For some tech companies, when we already have a great portfolio, technical questions might come up quickly, in the first interview.

While in other companies, you might go through a few interviews, plus a technical challenge before being chosen to present it in a technical way.

To summarize, it varies from company to company, but it is really likely that you will have to express your knowledge in UX Design.

To help you with that, I will bring you a list with 7 terms, plus how to dive deep into them, making it easier for you to explain your UX decisions with confidence.

Bonus: At the end, I will give you a great tip about how to digest and practice these and more UX terms.

1- Style guide

Once a recruiter asked me in an interview what was my understanding of the style guide, followed by how I used it in my Design.

So, what do you understand about a style guide?

The truth is that most people know the answer, but during a job interview, they will panic, just because they didn't think about the best way to explain it before.

Well, Style guides exist to make the design consistent across different devices and pages, it could be made for a company, a product, a brand, or a specific project. It is composed of elements such as colors, buttons, icons, grids, typography, and so on.

What if they ask you the difference between a Design System and a Style Guide?

Again, many people know it but never thought about how to put it into works.

Think about the name, the style guide will guide you across any need for Designing, while the Design system carries a system.
