After Going Through 10 UX Interviews, Here is What I Learned

It has been a month since I started applying for UX Design roles, over this time I went through 10 interviews. Here is what I learned from that.

Hey there! If you have been following me, you know by now that I have finished two UX Design certificates, one of them was the Google UX Design Certificate, and the other was a Brazilian UX Design Certificate, where I could focus more on UX Strategy, UX writing, and UI Design.

I came with a law degree, and it is being a fun and many times a tough journey to make the transition to UX Design.

But I know many professionals are doing this transition right now, and that’s why I am here. Let's sail this ocean together.

• How to have many job hunters contacting you on LinkedIn.
• How to organize, prepare, and most importantly, how to answer the interview questions correctly.

I am here to share my journey and hopefully, you won’t make the same mistakes that I did.

What does the interview process normally look like?

First comes the job hunter, in some cases, you send a CV and the Job Hunter texts you, or they will find you on LinkedIn and so on, next, they will text you. It can be a text on Linkedin, followed by a call, or even a text on your phone and e-mail, in Brazil, they usually text you on WhatsApp, so, be aware of your profile picture.

In my experience, these interviews were very quick and informal, sometimes just a phone call, and in most cases, a video call that would last no more than 30 minutes.

You need to know that in most cases the job hunter doesn’t know about technical UX Design procedures, all they have is the information about what the company is looking for, and your job is to prove that you fit in these requirements.
