The job market is rough right now; let’s make sure you survive.

Over the last few months, we have seen an absolutely unprecedented number of layoffs from the biggest companies in tech.

  • Meta: 21,000 laid off (25% of workforce)
  • Amazon: 18,000 laid off (5% of workforce)
  • Google: 12,000 laid off (6% of workforce)
  • Microsoft: 10,000 laid off (5% of workforce)
  • … and many more.

This means we’re starting 2023 with well over 95,000 additional highly qualified people looking for work in tech.

For entry-level applicants, who are already at the biggest disadvantage in the hiring process, this is going to hit you the hardest. Entry-level jobs require little to no experience, meaning more people are eligible to apply. And worse yet, many of positions aren’t actually even entry-level to begin with (e.g., asking for 5+ years experience or a graduate degree).

Ouch.
