MidJourney V5 Release is Going to Blow Your Mind
High resolution and better image prompting and aesthetics!
Fantastic news! The MidJourney V5 launch is almost here — get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Allow me to first welcome you today with a dreamy compass created with MidJourney. I am so excited about the direction and ongoing development of MidJourney!
MidJourney’s V5 “rating party” made a huge waves last week. They‘ve started to invite 10k and 25k superuser groups, with plans to reach out to everybody else in the near future.
They just started a second round today!
During the rating activity, users will be shown two images at a time and asked to select one you like more. This helps MidJourney what style the users prefer most.

With every new image generated, you can witness the incredible features of V5. The final version 5 will be even more eye-catching and awe-inspiring than what we’ve seen so far!
Here are some amazing images from the rating party. We are definitely seeing more details and complicated scenes.
Images look more accurate and realistic.
The images do not depict the V5 algorithms but are of higher resolution and have improvements in details and stylistic range
For now, the Version 4 Midjourney model has knowledge of various creatures, places, objects and more.
It can handle complex prompts with ease and supports features like multi-prompts and image prompting.
MidJourney Version 5
Expect to see the upcoming changes with the MidJourney V5 release:
- Improved language understanding
- It will be more flexible and less opinionated
- A wider range of aesthetics with more control
- Image prompting will be better
- Better faces and eyes, with improvement in minor details
- Fingers and limbs will be improved
- Images will be more accurate and detailed
- More training and a better rating system
- With the help of image-to-text technology, pictures can now be accurately described with written words.
- Generation times will be faster
- Zoom out button to reveal the entire picture on the generated images — this is a great way to get a better view of your image!
- Image tiling is back
- Expect other aspect ratios
MidJourney V5 Higher Resolution
MidJourney users have been asking for higher image resolution, and we are thrilled that the team is working towards making this happen!
In the meantime, utilize an image resize app to make your MidJourney images larger and clearer in resolution.
The team has been working hard to make MidJourney Version 5 even better. Version 5 will start with producing images up to 1024 x 1024. (512 x 512 for Version 4).
The final iteration should produce images of 2048 x 2048 size — though we don’t know when that will happen yet.
Exciting updates on transparency and 3D features are on the horizon, however the team is currently prioritizing simpler victories first.
I’m truly astounded by how versatile MidJourney is and the amazing feats they pull off with images and features. It’s incredible to witness their tireless dedication and constant pushing of boundaries!
