Leveling up fashion gamification feat. MYNTRA
These days I have been reading a lot about gamification. It includes strategies to integrate game-like mechanisms into non-gaming environments to make them even more appealing to the users.
While the gamification tactics of giving users credits for purchases, making them do challenges to win some offers, and giving them badges if they shop for a high price have been into e-commerce platforms for a long time to attract customers, these are some masterstrokes I have come across in MYNTRA that I found interesting.
Masterstroke#1: Try on the virtual room:

Using augmented reality is an innovative way of attracting customers who prefer to shop offline. It makes virtual shopping more accessible by providing realistic views of how the product will look to the buyer. I feel this is an excellent strategy. Customers are always seeking new and innovative shopping experiences.
It also allows the sellers to showcase their products effectively and the buyers to choose effectively. The way it asks for the body measurements, and lets people customize their virtual model to try on clothes and choose better is just amazing. Especially for women as women's sizing is so variable everywhere.
This helps the user find the right fit, size, and style for what they need
Masterstroke#2: 100% Personalised feed just for me? (Myntra suggests)

A whole feed of clothes suggested by Myntra just for me based on my shopping experience. I mean, I have seen clothing apps suggest clothes for the user suited to their preferences. But making a distinct section about it makes the feature stand out even more than other apps. the algorithm learns and adapts, ensuring that the suggestions remain relevant and up-to-date.
Personally, shopping made easy. I don't have to spend hours and apply 100s of filters to find the clothes curated for my type. You have the power to customize your preferences and provide feedback, contributing to a personalized experience that aligns with your unique style Saying hello to swift decision shopping.
Masterstroke#3: Try and buy

Another great feature to help traditional buyers get comfortable with shopping online. This is similar to the gamification feature of the “renting character” concept, where players are provided with the opportunity to use a specific character.
This mechanic allows users to experience playing with a character they might not own permanently or have access to otherwise.
By offering this temporary access, players can test the character’s abilities, skills, and overall gameplay style before deciding whether to purchase or unlock it permanently. This feature enhances the shopping experience by providing customers with the opportunity to physically try out the products and ensures that they are satisfied with their purchases.
As I reflect on these features, it strikes me that Myntra isn’t just changing the way we shop online — it’s handing us the reins. In this evolving landscape, it’s more than fashion; it’s about finding our unique style with practicality.
