With Midjourney becoming insanely good at creating visually compelling story worlds, the question becomes how we can further utilize these images for effective storytelling.

And they can not only be used as writing tools for brainstorming, pre-visualization and pitching… they can also be transformed into three-dimensional experiences, opening up entirely new possibilities

In this little 3-step guide we will look at

  • what a depth map is,
  • how to create depth maps from your 2D images and
  • how to combine depth maps & 2D images to create a 3D story worlds

Since images say more than words: what we are going to do is to go from a Midjourney generated image like this:
