Here is one of the best ways of using ChatGPT for innovation.
Let’s avoid the suspense, one of the best ways of using ChatGPT for innovation is by asking it to do an “Innovative combination”.
What is an “innovative combination” you might ask?
“the process of innovative combination involves combining existing ideas, technologies, or methods in new and creative ways to generate novel solutions to problems or to create new products or services. this process often involves identifying connections between seemingly unrelated ideas and finding ways to integrate them in order to create something that is more than the sum of its parts.it can also involve taking an existing idea or technology and modifying it in order to improve upon it or to adapt it to a new purpose. the goal of innovative combination is to generate new, valuable ideas that can be implemented in a practical way.” — ChatGPT
Or in other words, “Innovative combination” is basically taking 2 elements and generating ideas about what could be done with these 2 elements mixed together somehow.
Here is an example of what I asked ChatGPT and what it answered:
Myself: Can you come up with ideas of combined innovations with Skateboards and computers?
The bot: Developing a computerized skateboard that can be controlled using a smartphone app or a wireless remote, allowing the rider to adjust the speed and direction of the board remotely.

This last one might be a bit dangerous IMHO 😅.
Myself: Now combining innovation between seaweed and electricity?

So as you can see, it can come up with pretty interesting ideas!
I previously tried to ask him to come up with brand new innovative ideas about one object or one element and it did not perform very well, but “Innovative combination” works quite well I think.
