Growing in UX

Many of us in any field may find that it may be harder to learn more about our fields and industries after we complete our courses, classes, and studies. And many of us want to keep learning, practicing, and growing.
This happens to a lot of us in UX and Product Design. It even happens a lot to those who are considering a career change to UX and Product, but don’t know if they can fully commit yet. So how can you learn a little bit here and there to improve your knowledge and skills on your own time? Here’s a list of three of my favorite workshops, newsletters, and resources.

1. Bitesize UX
There was no way I could even write this list without including Joe Formica’s Bitesize UX. Joe is a former colleague of mine — we taught a couple UX intro courses together at General Assembly, and we even partnered together for a NYC UXPA workshop on Accessible Design.
Bitesize UX offers live online workshops to work on and improve your skills, portfolio, and career. Joe hosts each of the workshops, and with him you create awesome projects with expert instructors and friendly designers. 2. Curiosity Tank
Curiosity Tank is a digital design agency based in San Francisco, CA that offers a UX Research mentor course, a training workshop for teams, and even 1:1 coaching. I had the privilege of speaking with the founder Michele over Zoom about the course, the newsletter, and her expertise a couple years ago, and I’ve been following Curiosity Tank ever since.
