Hey my fellow followers and MidJourney fans! Here’s another “Exciting Updates of MidJourney”, bringing you the recap of the latest MidJourney weekly Office Hours (David Holz, the MidJourney founder, giving updates and answering community questions on MidJourney Discord every Wednesday) — knowing that a lot of you can’t listen to it real-time and sadly there’s no recording available either.
In Office Hours today on Oct 18, David announced the new Image Upscaler is going to be out today (*at the time of writing, it has just been released!), which David described as “the best in the world”, and the New Niji・Journey Mobile App has also been launched!

💡The New Image Upscaler is OUT!
There are two new image upscalers that have just been released:
・Upscale (2X): generates 2,000 x 2,000 pixel images
・Upscale (4X): generates 4,000 x 4,000 pixel images
— This new Upscaler is the highest resolution of all the image generation tools that ever happened. (Wow!)
— On the other hand, this new upscaler uses diffusion upscale, which David describes as “the best in the world” currently.
— According to David, 99% of the team are happy with the upscaler before the release. And he himself uses it on all the images he likes.
