Welcome guys! Today’s challenge is similar to that of Day 2, where a working parent and a big sports fan can no longer attend games because of a busy schedule. But this time, there’s a bit of a twist.

Scenario: A sports fan is at a wedding while their favorite team is playing against their arch-rivals. Their team scores.

Challenge: How would you quickly let the sports fan know about the latest play, the current score, and the key players? Write it.

Headline: 30 characters max

Body: 45 characters max

Goals: How do I help as a UX writer?

  1. Keep the user informed through the match without missing out on vital information even while at a wedding ceremony.
  2. Briefly communicate the highlights from the game in real-time.

Ideation process

According to the scenario above, the most important information the user should know is the latest play, current score, and keep players. But how?

To better understand a sports fan, I interviewed 3 Sports lovers, and they confirmed that for live scores pop-up notifications, all that’s important is the clubs playing, the score line, the scorer, and the time it happened. They emphasized the need for the message to be informational, brief, and clear.

This interview helped me come up with the copy below;

Solution

Rationale

The headline is attention-grabbing, and it’s a good thing to ride on and lead the user to the body of the copy. In the body, I highlighted the most important and placed the name of the scorer (Salah) and the time he scored (’43) when the club. This is to show that Salah scored for his club, Liverpool.

I found today’s task pretty interesting. What do you think about this result? Want to see my previous entries? check here.
