One of my favorite things to do is look for UX writing in things that have nothing to do with UX writing (I’m fun at parties I swear!).
I love Harry Potter. I’ve read the books in two languages; I’ve spent countless hours playing the video games; I do a marathon of the movies once a year, and I once traveled to London to do the Warner Bros. Studio tour (twice!).
I still get a sense of wonder and magic every time I re-read the Potter books, and I think it’s a feeling that will stick with me for the rest of my life — no matter how bad the extended universe stuff gets (lookin’ at you, Crimes of Grindelwald).
In my my recent read-through, I realized that these books are just so… quotable. And I’ve also noticed that many of these quotes have content design and UX writing lessons. Or, maybe, I think about my job a bit too much.
