5 Great Sans-Serif Google Fonts

Google has an amazing range of free fonts available to use, but sometimes it can be hard to decipher due to the sheer amount of them. Here’s a handy guide to 5 great Sans-Serif fonts for your next project.

All these fonts are free to download and use for commerical and personal use, and the links are all attached below the images.

1. Barlow Condensed

Barlow Condensed

The entire Barlow family of fonts is a fun and playful, but the condensed version of Barlow is perfect for a wide range of projects where impact is needed. It draws inspiration from the typography of California’s busses, highway signs and license plates here.

It is available in 9 weights, and comes as part of the Barlow Superfamily, which also inlcudes Normal and Semi-Condensed. These are all free to download on Google Fonts.

2. Spline Sans

Spline Sans

Spline Sans is a playful font, optimised for UI interfaces. It’s great for legibility and has just enough character to add a playful touch into your designs. It’s simialr to similar paid fonts National and Supira Sans.

3. Inter Display

Inter Diplay

It’s almost an exact copy of Apple’s San Francisco font, which is used across the entire apple ecosystem, so it’s perfect for iPhone and UX mockups. It’s beautifully crafted, and the wide range of weights makes it super versatile.
