12 Things I Learned in the Last 12 Months as a UX Design Beginner
A general breakdown of things I wish I knew before I started UX
My user experience journey began in October 2021 based on 3 minutes of the Google Pixel 6 launch video. I sat there, staring at the screen, and marveled at the new product features thinking to myself “I want to do that”. Two months later — and a ‘down the rabbit hole’ research approach — I was applying to grad school for UX.

It’s been almost one year since I began that journey, and there are still a lot of questions left unanswered (such as How do I make the transition to UX without having to restart my career completely?).
And one year later, I’ve learned a lot about starting in a new field now that I’m 5+ years into another. I wish I’d known a lot of these sooner in this process.
